Here is a list of commonly used terms in the world of Chromaluxe metal prints and photography:

Aperture | The opening in a camera lens through which light passes. |
Aspect Ratio | The proportional relationship between an image's width and height. |
Bleed | The area outside of an image's border that extends to the edge of the paper or substrate it is printed on. |
CMYK | Cyan, magenta, yellow, and black. A color model used in printing that stands for the colors of ink used. |
DPI | Dots per inch. A measurement of printing resolution that refers to the number of ink droplets or dots per inch of paper. |
Embossing | A process of creating a raised design on a print by pressing it into the paper or substrate. |
Exposure | The amount of light allowed to enter a camera's aperture. |
Focal Length | The distance between a camera lens and the image sensor when the lens is focused at infinity. |
Focal Point | The part of an image that is in focus. |
Gamut | The range of colors that can be reproduced by a device or medium. |
Giclee | A high-quality print made using an inkjet printer. |
Gloss Finish | A shiny, reflective surface on a print. |
ICC Profile | A file that contains information about how a device reproduces colors. |
Laser Etching | A process of creating a design on a print by using a laser to burn the image onto the substrate. |
Lamination | A process of applying a thin layer of plastic film to a print for protection or enhanced appearance. |
Matte Finish | A non-glossy, flat surface on a print. |
MDF | Medium-density fiberboard. A composite wood product used in mounting prints. |
Metal Print | A print that is mounted on a metal panel. |
Pixelation | A distortion of an image caused by enlarging it beyond its resolution capabilities. |
PPI | Pixels per inch. A measurement of image resolution that refers to the number of pixels in an inch of an image. |
RGB | Red, green, and blue. A color model used in digital devices that stands for the primary colors of light. |
Sawtooth Hanger | A type of hanging hardware that is commonly used on the back of frames for wall mounting. |
Sublimation Printing | A process of printing that uses heat to transfer dye onto a substrate, such as metal or fabric. |
Textured Finishes | A surface on a print that has a tactile quality, such as a canvas or linen texture. |
Vignette | A gradual fade of an image towards its edges. |
Wide Color Gamut | that is capable of reproducing a wide range of colors. |
